This morning, Miguel Oliveira was announced as a BMW factory rider in next year's World Superbike (WorldSBK). He moves to the production motorcycle championship after seven seasons in MotoGP, during which he achieved five victories.

The rider from the Almada region has achieved five victories in the premier class, but in recent years he has had several difficulties - particularly in 2025, not having the desired performances and results at Pramac Yamaha.

The Italian team has signed Toprak Razgatlioglu... who will replace Oliveira in WorldSBK. The Turk is on track to become a two-time consecutive champion and a three-time champion in his career, so it won't be an easy position to fill.

In a statement, Oliveira highlighted his enthusiasm and confidence in BMW's potential: "Joining the BMW family in World Superbike is an exciting step in my career, one that I see as having enormous potential. I am becoming part of a project that is not only ambitious and competitive, but has also had a significant impact on the championship and the motorcycle industry."

The Portuguese also highlighted the motivation with which he faces this new chapter in his sporting career: "Being involved with a new team, working with strong partners, and embracing a new championship format gives me great motivation to do my best. I want to sincerely thank Sven Blusch, technical director Chris Gonschor, and team principal Shaun Muir for their trust and enthusiasm. I can't wait to start this new chapter together."
